Chicago River by Wacker Drive 

This watercolor sketch was made on the day I was visiting the Chicago Architectural Center. The scene overlooking the river was so familiar and welcoming, it seemed appropriate to capture the ambiance in a sketch.

The style is an impressionistic interpretation of the area, rather than a studied, realistic view of the scene.
