Let's capture the season's bounty by creating a delicious array of farmer’s market produce in watercolors! You will take a painting home with you. All supplies will be provided.

Watercolor Wonders: Pumpkins!

October 1, 2024 (11am - 12:30pm)
Niles-Maine Public Library

Pumpkins are as varied as people. Each one has a different shape or color or “attitude.” We will explore all the personalities of pumpkins through envisioning them in a watercolor painting. This is so much fun!

On professional grade watercolor paper, we will create a piece of art featuring—you guessed it—pumpkins. You can add Jack-o-Lantern faces, or pumpkin vegetation if you wish. This piece may become a permanent part of your Fall décor, or use it as a gift of original art for a fall-loving friend.

The process will be demonstrated step-by-step. This is especially fun if you attend with a friend. No experience necessary. You will take a painting home with you. All supplies will be provided.

ONLINE LESSON (ZOOM)
Pumpkins with Personalities!

October 14, 2024 (4pm – 5pm CT)

We will draw and then paint a collection of pumpkins. I will create a PDF with pumpkins that you can print out and trace onto your heavier watercolor paper, if you want to. You can add Jack-o-Lantern faces, or a Halloween message. This piece may become a permanent part of your Fall décor. In this live class (Zoom), the process will be demonstrated step-by-step (no experience necessary).

Watercolor Wonders: Snow Covered Trees Greeting Card

November 20, 2024 (2 - 3:30pm)
Niles-Maine Public Library

Imagine watching a gentle snowfall with fluffy clumps of snow balanced on evergreen boughs. Surprisingly, snow-covered trees are relaxing to paint in watercolors! We’ll draw a small cluster of trees and create the illusion of a beautiful winter day in rural Illinois.

The process will be demonstrated step-by-step. (Yes! You can do this!) This is especially fun if you attend with a friend. You will take a holiday card home with you. All supplies will be provided.

Rob

This was my first lesson with this website. I really enjoyed Jane's laidback style and friendly going personality. She was easy to connect with and talk to. Extremely helpful. I like how she focused on exactly what I was asking for help with and didn't waste my time with unnecessary help.

Vanessa

Jane helped me through some self-doubting/negative thinking places. She was sensitive to where I am and acknowledged that. Then we moved on to paint more from there, continuing to learn and grow. I am rejuvenated! Thank you, Jane.

Gloria

Good coverage of topics that expanded my abilities and Jane provided valuable feedback on work already completed.
