Notes From The Artist...
An early fall scene, painted en plein air, in Grant's Park, Chicago, IL.
I painted this on a very crisp fall day as the bright sun slowly started warming me so I could remove my mittens, scarf and winter coat. I was visited by several friendly dogs and their owners. Always an experience when you are painting outside. You can see the statue of Grant on horseback in the lower right. In 2008, President-elect Barack Obama gave his victory speech at Grant Park.
This is also the site of the famous Chicago music celebration, Lollapaloosa. In addition, it is a lovely historic park in the Loop area of downtown Chicago. Millennium Park is at the north end of Grant's Park.
