Fall has so many colors of warmth—like the yellows and orange in this painting.
The photo for this painting was a dreary, cold, overcast autumn day in Ohio, with the hint of an early frost in the air. That was not the ambiance I wanted. So, I took the inspiration photos and what I observed on my walk along the bank, and let me imagination take over. I amped up the colors to meet the mood of fall day that I wanted to be, not the day I was actually in!
That is one job as an artist, to create the art you want to create. I love this painting. These are the colors I see when I look at those old, drab photos.
