Cliffs and Clouds

This watercolor sketch was made on a day that I was mentally blown away by clouds. The goal of the painting was to capture the power of the clouds. The rest of it was painted to give the clouds a "stage" to perform on. The actual scene is from my imagination. You can imagine it's where ever you want it to be. 

The style is an impressionistic interpretation of the area, rather than a studied, realistic view of the scene.

As a five-year-old, I won my first art contest and distinctly remember the drawing I had created being used on the cover of the spring catalog for Joslyn Museum.
